One hundred and three Singaporeans received their Masters degrees, Bachelor degrees and diplomas, in Buddhist Studies from the Buddhist and Pali College, Singapore which is affiliated with the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, at a graduation ceremony held on the 25th August at the Mangala Vihara in Singapore.

The degrees and diplomas were conferred by the Vice-Chancellor of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, Neluwe Sumanawansa Thero. The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore, Senarath Dissanayake, was in attendance as the Special guest at the convocation.  Senior Assistant Registrar of the Buddhist and Pali University, Mrs. Malka Hewavitharana, was also present.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka, Professor Neluwe Sumanawansa Thero, the Principal of the Buddhist and Pali College of Singapore and the current chief incumbent of the Mangala Vihara, Pupule Seelananda Thero, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore, Mr. Senarath Dissanayake, the Chairman of Mangala Vihara Management Committee,  Dr. Lim Ah Swan, Chairman of the Old Pupils Association of Buddhist and Pali College Kovida Jebsons Chia, and on behalf of the graduates and diplomats, Ms. Lim Aileng addressed the ceremony.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore is facilitating the conduct of the examinations of the Buddhist and Pali College, Singapore in liaison with the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka which has 12 affiliated institutions around the world spreading the Buddha’s teachings worldwide for four decades. 

The Buddhist and Pali College has been conducting diplomas, graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degree courses in Buddhism and Buddhist Studies in Singapore in affiliation with the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka for thirty years, and thousands of students have successfully completed those courses and obtained diplomas and degrees.

Tokens of appreciation were presented to the teaching and administrative staff of the Buddhist and Pali College, appreciating their service.
