Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau together Sri Lanka High Commission in Singapore successfully concluded a "Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Roadshow" on 8th July, 2016 at the Hilton Hotel, Singapore.


The objective of the event was to promote Sri Lankan tourism industry, and to offer a platform to exchange ideas, network, explore business prospects, and to promote the country to potential tourism industry stakeholders of tour operators and travel related agencies.


The event kick started with the traditional lighting of the oil lamp and a welcome speech by the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Singapore, His Excellency, Mr Nimal Weeraratne and special guest speaker representing the Singapore tourism industry, Mr Devinder Ohri, the President of NATAS.


Fifteen trade participants from Sri Lanka were on hand to engage travel agents and tour operators in a B2B network session to exchange ideas and opportunities in a win-win situation that might make forays to a good working alliance. This event has undoubtedly received good media coverage and publicity. 

During the event, the Sri Lanka Tourist Promotion Bureau presented an insightful details to the audience the authentic, diverse and unique tourism products, attractions and wonders in Sri Lanka.  In addition, an enthralling video presentation was shown on a wide screen, showcasing Sri Lanka as a splendid gateway to an exotic and rustic destination for travellers and honeymooners. Sri Lankan Airlines, in their presentation which heightened the zest of the occasion, detailed to the audience a variety of services offered by the national carrier to a visiting traveller.

The event was followed by a Q & A session and a lucky draw before dinner is finally served at the Hilton Hotel.
