Legalization/ Attestation/ Authentication & Certification of Documents – High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore

Legalization, Attestation, Authentication Certification of the documents (Birth/ Marriage/ Death/ Divorce/ Degree/ etc Certificate) issued by the Sri Lankan Government

For the purpose of legalization & certification of documents, applicants are required to submit the original documents authenticated by the Consular Division of the Foreign Ministry in Sri Lanka. (Photocopies/scanned or tampered documents will not be accepted)
Please note that the documents without the authentication of the Foreign Ministry in Sri Lanka will not be accepted for this purposes.

Application Fee:

When the document holder is a Sri Lankan National: SGD 50

When the document holder is a Foreign National: SGD 66

Legalization, Attestation of documents issued by the Singapore Authorities

Any document issued by the Government of Singapore should be attested by the Notary Public or Academy of Law in Singapore before submitting to this High Commission for attestation.

Certification of Documents

The following documents issued by the Sri Lankan Government can be certified at the High Commission:

Passport

Application Fee: SGD 17

Applicants should bring the original documents along with one set of photo copy.

Affidavit/ Proxy

The applicant should come in person to the High Commission with valid passport, resident proof in Singapore and original documents that are relevant to the Affidavit (Eg, Birth certificate, Marriage Certificate, Death Certificate, Divorce Certificates and Educational Certificates)

Certification of Concern Letter

Either Parent’s Consent Letter for issuance of a Child’s Passport in Sri Lanka.
If the father or mother of child is residing in Singapore a no objection letter should be certified by the High Commission along with the copy of the passport.
Child’s copy of the Original Birth Certificate should be submitted in order to obtain the Consent Letter.
