Ceylon Cinnamon was promoted in Singapore along with Venezuelan Cocoa at an event organized by the Embassy of Venezuela in Singapore at Regis Tower on October 22, 2024.

Sri Lanka High Commission participated in this trade promotional event with the objective of creating an awareness of the benefits and different uses of Ceylon cinnamon and promote Ceylon cinnamon in Singapore.

High Commissioner Senarath Dissanayake attended the event as a special guest and outlined the history of Sri Lanka’s cinnamon industry. In his remarks, he briefly mentioned the benefits of using pure Ceylon cinnamon, priced for its unique flavor, aroma, and health benefits, produced in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Yasantha Yaddehi, Minister (Commercial) of the High Commission, made a comprehensive presentation about Ceylon Cinnamon contrasting the differences between Ceylon cinnamon compared to the other cinnamon varieties stressing the high quality and unique flavor and aroma of Ceylon cinnamon. He further highlighted the numerous medicinal values and different uses of Ceylon cinnamon.

Samples of Ceylon cinnamon together with Ceylon tea were distributed to the guests, giving them an opportunity to appraise Ceylon cinnamon and Ceylon tea.

The guests were also treated with a sensory experience through a specially prepared chocolate drink flavored with Ceylon cinnamon and a Ceylon cinnamon flavored porridge.

Heads of Missions and members of the diplomatic community in Singapore, food distributors and food importers in Singapore, members of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chocolate Chamber of Commerce were among the guests who attended the event.
