As Sri Lanka opened its borders for international travel on 21st January 2021, the first Tourism Trade Delegation from Germany arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on 22nd January at 1:40 am for an Ayurvedic Holiday in Sri Lanka.

The tourism trade delegation consisted of Mr. Uwe Endres and Ms. Klaudia Wagner from 'Fit Reisen Group', Germany, Mr. Markus Hegeman from Neue Wege GmbH, a celebrated travel agent who promotes Ayurvedic tour packages and Ayurveda Tourism in Germany and two lifestyle journalists, Ms. Natalia Gutermann and Mr. Hans-Jorg Baston. The travel-trade representatives in the delegation have been working with Sri Lanka for over two decades and  promoting the destination for Ayurveda in their respective markets.
