The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Singapore, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Presidential Secretariat and Sri Lankan Airlines repatriated the third group of Sri Lankans stranded in Singapore, who had registered with the High Commission expressing desire to return to Sri Lanka in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, by Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL 303 today (24 June, 2020).
The group consisted of 96 individuals from the migrant worker, student, short term travellers and medical evacuation categories.
The High Commission wishes to express appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore for their cooperation in this endeavour, and to the charity “Project Providence” for supporting those who couldn’t afford to pay for their tickets.
